Install on Linux

Open a terminal in the folder with the file and run:

sudo apt install ./soundcloud-desktop_*_amd64.deb

Linux Mint and Pop!_OS install the same way.

Open a terminal in the folder with the file and run:

sudo dnf install ./soundcloud-desktop-*.x86_64.rpm

sudo zypper install ./soundcloud-desktop-*.x86_64.rpm

For Arch, Manjaro and EndeavourOS:

yay -S soundcloud-bin

paru -S soundcloud-bin

Install only soundcloud-bin. The soundcloud-desktop-bin package is made by someone else and gets updates later.

For any distribution, x86_64 only:

flatpak install --user https://zxcloli666.github.io/SoundCloud-Desktop/flatpak/soundcloud-desktop.flatpakref

Start it from SoundCloud Desktop in the app menu or with the command:

flatpak run io.github.zxcloli666.SoundcloudDesktop

This is the project’s own repository, not Flathub. Updates come through flatpak update and the app center.

Open a terminal in the folder with the file and run:

chmod +x soundcloud-desktop_*_amd64.AppImage
./soundcloud-desktop_*_amd64.AppImage

AppImage is slow or the window is white? Install the Flatpak.

Start the app

From the app menu or with soundcloud-desktop. Flatpak and AppImage: with the command in their own tab.

Click Sign in with SoundCloud and allow access in the browser. More about signing in

ARM: Raspberry Pi and other boards

sudo apt install ./soundcloud-desktop_*_arm64.deb

sudo dnf install ./soundcloud-desktop-*.aarch64.rpm

chmod +x soundcloud-desktop_*_aarch64.AppImage
./soundcloud-desktop_*_aarch64.AppImage

The AUR package soundcloud-bin is built for aarch64 too. There is no Flatpak for ARM. The window fits an 800x480 screen.

Steam Deck, Bazzite and other immutable systems

Install the Flatpak. Window is white: Linux: white or blank window.

Download the .flatpak file

flatpak install --user soundcloud-desktop.flatpak

The command adds the same project repository.

No tray icon

Without a tray icon, closing the window quits the app. More
