Which file to download

I'm on the GitHub release page: which file is mine

Computer	File
Windows 10 and 11	`soundcloud-desktop_*_x64-setup.exe` (recommended)
Windows, work PC	`soundcloud-desktop_*_x64_en-US.msi`
Windows, no install	`soundcloud-desktop-portable.exe`
Mac with an Apple chip	`soundcloud-desktop_*_aarch64.dmg` (aarch64 means Apple Silicon)
Mac with Intel	`soundcloud-desktop_*_x64.dmg`
Ubuntu, Debian, Mint	`soundcloud-desktop_*_amd64.deb` or `_arm64.deb`
Fedora, openSUSE	`soundcloud-desktop-*.x86_64.rpm` or `.aarch64.rpm`
Any Linux	`soundcloud-desktop_*_amd64.AppImage` or `_aarch64.AppImage`
Flatpak	`soundcloud-desktop.flatpak` (x86_64 only)
Arch	AUR `soundcloud-bin`

Do not download Source code (zip), Source code (tar.gz), latest.json or .app.tar.gz: they are the code and the auto-update files, not the app. There is no build for Windows on ARM, 32-bit Windows or a universal dmg.

GitHub doesn't open

The buttons on this page download through the project mirror, so you do not need to open GitHub. Another option: getsoundcloud.app/download.The site does not open either: turn on a VPN only for the download. The app itself does not need a VPN.

Check that the file is genuine

On getsoundcloud.app/download every file has its SHA-256 and a copy button. Calculate the SHA-256 of the downloaded file and compare:

certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256

shasum -a 256 <file>

sha256sum <file>

They match: the file is ours.
