# Android app

> The official app for Android 8 and newer: APK and QR sign-in

    **Full** looks like the desktop app, for powerful phones. **Lite** has a simple look, for weak phones. The features are the same.

    The app is not on Google Play. Open the file and allow installs from unknown sources. New versions install from inside the app.

  <Step title="Sign in by QR">
    On the computer open **Settings -> Account -> Transfer session to another device** and scan the code in the phone app. Likes, playlists and STAR will be shared.

    Only our Android app reads the code. The ordinary camera app and the official SoundCloud app will not open it. The code lives 5 minutes and works once. Do not show it to strangers: whoever scans it gets your sign-in.

    The computer cannot scan codes. It works the other way: on the computer's sign-in screen click **Sign in with QR** and scan the code in the phone app where you are already signed in.

    In the phone app choose sign-in through the browser. That sign-in can drop if you later sign in somewhere else.
