# The app doesn't work with zapret

> Turn zapret off, check, then add our domains to the exclusions

        Close the `.bat` window or stop the zapret service. Click **Check again**.

        Add these lines to `lists/list-exclude-user.txt` in the zapret folder, with no spaces or empty lines:

        scnative.space
        getsoundcloud.app
        soundcloud-desktop.fun
        ```

        All four are needed: these are the old and new project addresses. Turn zapret on. No such file? zapret creates it on its first start. If the Network check sees zapret, it shows these lines with a copy button.

          Write only to files with `-user` in the name. zapret overwrites `list-general.txt` and `list-exclude.txt` when it updates.

        Add the lines `scnative.dev` and `scnative.space` to `lists/list-general-user.txt`, turn zapret on and check again. Got worse: remove them.

        zapret2 uses `/opt/zapret2` instead of `/opt/zapret`.

    The Flatpak app cannot see a running zapret and will not show the lines itself: do the steps by hand.

## Common questions

  <Accordion title="Tracks load slowly and SoundCloud does not open" id="soundcloud-blocked">
    Add two lines to `lists/list-general-user.txt` (Linux, macOS: `/opt/zapret/ipset/zapret-hosts-user.txt`) and restart zapret:

    sndcdn.com
    ```

    Tracks then come straight from SoundCloud again, which is faster.

  <Accordion title="I added everything and it still fails">
    Common mistakes:

    * Edited the wrong file: you need the files with `-user` in the name.
    * Spaces or empty lines between the entries.
    * zapret was not restarted after the edit.
    * Added only SoundCloud's own domains, not our domains from step 3.

    The mode is shown in `service.bat`, item **IPSet Filter**. In `none` mode there is nothing to add.

    For `loaded` and `any`, add the server addresses to `lists/ipset-exclude-user.txt`, one per line. Copy them from the Network check window: the addresses change, so they are not listed here.

    The Network check says this when zapret uses a strategy with `ts`. Turn TCP timestamps on: on Windows in PowerShell as administrator, on Linux in a terminal.

  <Accordion title="Discord does not work without zapret">
    Do not turn zapret off for good. Add the exclusions from step 3 and keep zapret on.

    There is no officially recommended one. Add the exclusions from step 3 first.

  <Accordion title="Domains for a VPN, AdGuard, a firewall" id="domains">
    Add them by suffix, an entry covers all subdomains:

    ```

    For direct track downloads also `soundcloud.com` and `sndcdn.com`. For signing in through the browser: `soundcloud.com`, `web.app` and `firebaseapp.com`. The app process on Windows is `soundcloud-desktop.exe`, for the portable app `soundcloud-desktop-portable.exe`.

    Do not write down IP addresses, they change.
